Welcome Back!!!

Hello everyone!
 

I hope you all had a wonderful summer. We just wanted to let you know that our first pre-dental meeting of the year will be on Tuesday, September 15th in Sarratt room 363 from 6:00 to 7:00pm. We will be doing some practice DAT questions and just planning out the rest of our year. Please come with ideas for future meetings and we will try our best to make them happen. Also, we will be discussing our first speaker, Dr. Wisdom Coleman from University of Tennessee Memphis Dental school.

Last Meeting of the Year

We will be having our last meeting of the school year sometime next week. We are in the midst of trying to organize a representative from Kaplan to come to the meeting and give a diagnostic DAT. Please be sure to look out for this email in the coming days. Thanks!

Pre-Dental Elections

  The Pre-Dental Society held elections on Thursday, Feb. 5th and is pleased to announce its new leadership positions:

PreDental Meeting – DAT preparation

What’s up guys,

    We’re going to be having our second meeting of the year on Wednesday, November 5th in Sarrat 363 from 6:30 to 7:30.  The emphasis of this meeting is going to be the Dental Admission Test.  We’re going to be going over the various aspects of the test and offering our “veteran insight” on the best strategies for studying and taking the exam.  We will be sharing the things that we personally found helpful for suceeding on the DAT, and hopefully save you the time and trouble of having to figure these things out on your own.  If you’ve already taken the DAT and are happy with your score, this meeting may not be of use to you.  However, I would highly recommend it for freshman/sophmores.  See you there!

First Meeting of the Year

Hello all,

The Vanderbilt Pre-Dental Society will be having its first meeting of the year on Monday, September 22.  We will be sending out an email in the upcoming days specifying the room number and time.  We are fortunate to once again host Dr. Filler as our guest speaker.  Dr. Filler is the Associate Dean for Student, Alumni, and External affairs for the University of Alabama School of Dentistry.  Dr. Filler has attended past Pre-Dental Society meetings, and has always been an extremely receptive and enthusiastic speaker.  Dr. Filler’s position allows him to offer unique, insider insight into the Dental Admissions process.  Thus, this will be a great opportunity to have your dental admissions questions answered by a man who knows the process from the inside out.  We hope to see you there.

Meeting on Thursday April 10th

Hello all,

The Pre-Dental Society will be having its final meeting on Thursday,
April 10th in Sarrat 325 (third floor).  We’re going to emphasizing the
application process, as this is crunch time for any juniors who hope to
be applying to dental schools in the next few months.  We will provide
handouts reviewing everything you ought to be doing as a part of this
process, make sure everybody has a firm understanding of what is expected
of them, and explain anything people may have questions about.
Afterwards, Josh Brooks, a Kaplan D.A.T. prep course instructor, will
give a talk about the D.A.T.  Hope to see you there.
